November 24 work.
This weekend, health and weather came together to allow me to get more done on the caboose.
Saturday I added the outer 2x4's needed to widen the caboose to meet Banks County Code. The caboose was 6'11"
inside width and the one person said it needed to be 7' minimum. By adding a 2x4 to the outside of the existing
to increase the room width by 3.5". The new F1 panels will be built to the wider spec. I am still having issues
with Banks County trying to figure out what they will allow and what they will not. Apparently as long as I do
not intend to live in it, it is O.K. to put up most anything as long as building setback lines are observed.
Anyway, I added plywood to the the next
two panels. Unfortunately, I purchased 1/2" plywood while the first three panels were 3/4" plywood. I
was planning on a second layer of plywood before putting down laminate flooring so I just need to watch plywood
thickness' and it will work out all right.
Sunday, I attached the new sub-flooring. Dick Bentley came over late in the day and we extended the workbench to
the end. Thanks for the greatly needed help, Dick. This will allow me to build the complete 30' long floor now.
I used some new Halogen work lamps to complete the workbench. I found I was one 79 cent part short of completing
the entire workbench assembly. Hopefully weather will not be bitter cold for Thanksgiving and I can get the last
three panels started if not completed.
Labor Day (September 2) work.
This weekend, I was sick and it was not until Labor Day that I could do
anything on the caboose. However, I was able to get the interior joists on one panel completed and the center joist
on the other panel installed.
I would have tried to complete the 4 small
18" joists on the second panel but I ran out of the correct size screws late in the day.
