These photos were taken in August and September of 1999.
This was taken from the rear
platform of the parlor car "ALAMOSA" when leaving
Silverton. I do not know what peak this is, but I found the looks of it very odd and interesting.
These three photos were
taken of an interesting residence near Durango. The two cabooses were trucked in and turned into a vacation cabin
or full time home. It was for sale. I took photos of it to show people what I wanted to do out at my property.
Unlike much of the railroad, the lower few miles is relatively flat and straight,
as shown here.
On the southern end of
the line, I saw this water fall. It is easily seen from the the US highway that is in the foreground.
One
of the trips we stopped at Hermosa for water (we were riding behind Eureka). I saw this strange looking yellow
car. I still do not know what it is for.
This
car was seen at the Colorado Railroad Museum. The day I was there, I was mostly interested in the Galloping Geese
(for live steam). I took a shot of this car and looked it up when I got home. It is a kitchen car.
