D&RGW Gon photos
These photos were taken in the early 1990's in Chama, New Mexico. Some of these photos can actually be used as scale drawings. The black and white painted carpenter's square in the photos has the black and white changing on the one foot marks. On the long end of the square, the black and white stripes are both one inch wide. On the short end of the square, the inside white stripe is 1/2" and the outside black strip is one inch.

Here is
one of the original gons made by the D&RGW. It is a high side gon since there are five (5) boards per side.
Gon 1000 is the first car in the series.

Gon 1610
is another high side gon. Note the differences between 1960 and 1000 in the way the fifth board is attached to
the lower four side boards
Gon 9558
is missing part of the top side board on the left side of this photo. Although in the 9500's, it was built to similar
dimensions as the 1000's and 1500's.
