These photos were taken Durango, CO in August and September of 1999.

Durango yard as trains get ready to leave the yard. 478 is in the foreground with a train and a K-36 is in the background waiting for 478 to leave.

481 arriving back into Durango after a trip to Silverton. Mom is in the picture.

480 is coming up to pick up her train.

Box car 3749 (last of a series of 750 box cars) being used as a baggage car for the train that is waiting for a locomotive.

Crewmen wait for the locomotive to be attached to the train so they may inspect the brakes. The roundhouse in the background was built in 1989. The 1880 era round house burned in 1989. Two walls of the old roundhouse were used in the new roundhouse.

478 slowing for the road crossing.

Perrin's Peak.

D&SNG crossing Main Street.

Departure.

Parlor car Alamosa. This is an extra fare car with a car attendant for waiting on patrons. The rear platform is a great place to see the scenery.

This shot is of the former freight yard that stretched about a half mile or more south. Most of the old yard is now a US highway. The private car on the right is the Nomad and is waiting for a call to service. It may be rented by the public.

The box cars on the left are used for phone reservations and mail correspondence.

The turntable lead tracks taken from the roundhouse museum.
